Update on the trip

We went to the Village at Avonlea and Cavendish Beach yesterday, both if which were anticlimactic. You have to be REALLY into Anne of Green Gables to truly appreciate the Village so while it was quaint, it was tough to get the entire family into the running storyline. The best part of Cavendish was the jellyfish :)

Nevertheless it was an enjoyable day tied up with a trip to the Brackley Drive-In to see Toy Story 3, which was totally worth it :)  The scenery was mind-blowing (the islanders love their Holsteins...) and I can scratch PEI off my bucket list :)

We took the ferry to Nova Scotia and within milliseconds I was in love :). The smells, the scenery, everything! We stopped in Truro for coffee before hitting the Halifax harbor for a few hours. The high point of the day was watching the kids rig the Tall Ship Silva and learn how to tie knots. Very cute :)
We ate some yummy fish and chips on the pier before making like bandits for Lunenburg. Our suite is delicious and I can hardly wait to spend the day exploring tomorrow. We're going to put around town for a few hours before making our way slowly up the coast to Peggy's Cove. When we finally get tired of exploring we'll drive to Hopewell for the last 2 days where we'll do some sea kayaking and visit the covered bridges. I'm sure it will be an amazing day :)

And, since I have internet and can use the laptop, here are all the pictures that haven't been uploaded already!

Kalean was TOTALLY pumped for the plane ride, his very first.

Bill slept, Serejane & Madisyn giggled.

It's usually Kaelan who suffers terrible motion sickness, but Wil was so ill he ended up vomiting in the parkade at the Moncton Airport.  He finally started feeling moderately human again today.

Just before landing in Moncton.

These mailboxes along the road reminded me of what the world would look like of Little Tykes took over the planet.

Little Blue Ass ruling cockpit.

This one messed me up - a roundabout? on the HIGHWAY?  I can't even imagine how this wold go over on HWY 2 between Edmonton and Calgary.  There would be so many of those coffin-shaped signs it'd look like a cloud of black flies!

Driving over Confederation Bridge rocked.  Hard.

Mmmm - iced tea and a lobster burger!

Signs of party life at Cavendish.

Collecting shells.

Little Blue Ass getting schooled by Miss Stacey in the Village of Avonlea.

I was the only person on the beach wearing a hoodie.  I swear to God too many years of air conditioning have destroyed my ability to regulate my body temperature.

Ling Ling the Pink Panda.  She was timely, because shortly after purchasing her there was a Japanese child in the gift store at the Vilage at Avonlea who picked up a puppet and ran to his Mom, "Look - a panda puppet!" only, it was actually a skunk puppet.... very cute :)

Poor Wil.

The Holsteins.  (Heather, remember, they aren't Jersey cows, despite what the Jersey Milk chocolate bars might try and tell you...)

At the Drive-In - they went all out with the creepy dolly factor in Toy Story 3 - clowns AND babies... awesome...

The parking stanchions in Chalottetown near the Dept of Fisheries :)

PEI garbages all have 3 compartments - compost, waste, and recyclables.  I loved it.

Boarding the Ferry at Wood Islands, bound for Nova Scotia.  It was a relaxing ride, filled with laughter, live Maritime musicians, and much donkey play.

Before we even docked I was in love with Nova Scotia.  I am SO excited to see MORE MORE MORE tomorrow!!!

Tall Ship Silva was a lot of fun, even though we didn't actually get to sail as there wasn't much wind.

The view of McDonald Bridge from the harbour.

And to all a goodnight...

Arrrrrr, Matey!!!

Ferrylicious

Nova Scotia, here we come !!!
